Transforming African Trade: CTD's Institutional Model

The Centre for Trade and Development (CTD) aims to turn trade policy into an instrument for systemic reform. We are building a prosperous, trade-capable Africa through world-class education, applied research, and pragmatic policy engagement. This approach builds long term capacity and establishes a competitive trade and investment environment for Africa.

Transforming African Trade: CTD's Institutional Model

CTD will cultivate and empower a cadre of leaders to transform Africa's trade ecosystem. We anticipate that the application of CTD's principles, skills, and concepts by these reformers in their countries will attract efficiency-seeking FDI, forge competitive value-added supply chains, and integrate African firms into global value chains. Ultimately, this will contribute to Africa diversifying trade partners, surging export volumes, and securing permanent market access—anchoring long-term economic stability and job creation.
